Getting into it…

The knits:

I’ve been working on wild stripes; for awhile now. I started it when my boss was pregnant with her daughter who is now seven months old. I wanted it to be a “hey, way to be born!” present, but I missed that deadline. Now I’m hoping that it will be a good one-year old present.  :)   I’m using pretty much the colors that are listed on the pattern, except for a few that weren’t available when I purchased the yarn. It’s not hard so far, it just gets tedious switching the yarn every few rows. I’m nervous for the finishing things like the embroidery and sewing on the piping and the backing. My mom is a good sewer, so I’m hoping she can help me out with that. Any tips would be appreciated!

I recently started working on the Gryffyndor Scarf which is really simple. A huge, long, stockinette tube. I’m excited for it to be done, but its slow going at times. (A huge tube really does get boring at times)

The last thing on my needles right now is the Seascape Stole. This is my first lace project and my first project that is not just knits and purls. Also, its my first time working from a chart. It was a very frustrating scarf to begin with, and I’ve had to set it aside for awhile. I need to get up the courage to try it again. I may have decided that I do not like lace weight yarn. :/

  1. I love Harry Potter scarves, but they’re tricky–at first it seems to grow quickly and you think it’ll be done in no time, but then it enters that black hole of knitting everyone talks about.

  2. I second Diana. Erin’s Gryffindor scarf took me an eternity, but I loved the final result, so it was worth it.

You’ve really made progress on your blanket. Looking good!

Let me know if you need any help with the stole. I can’t wait to see how it turns out.
