The last month has been busy. I finished two pairs of booties for my niece and I will be bringing them to her in less than a week, which I am incredibly excited for. I also finished one of my Christmas present knit projects, but I can’t share it here so that the recipient doesn’t [...]

I finally finished those socks I started six months ago the other day. I must say, it was incredibly satisfying to get over second sock syndrome and get those done. They aren’t my favorite, they are pretty boring, but I think I did a good job and I’m proud of them. Now I am so [...]

Woohoo! I finished the Danica scarf I’ve been working on for what seems like forever. I’m super excited to have another FO, but even more excited that I don’t have to knit this anymore. It was fun at first and interesting since it was a bit different; but at the end it got seriously annoying. [...]

My sister’s shower was this weekend, so now I can debut the sweaters to the world without fear of spoiling the surprise. The shower was awesome, especially because there were petit fours from the two old ladies of Essexville. I absolutely adore those and can not believe they are only $4 a dozen. [...]

Well I’ve finished the sweater for my sister’s baby-to-be, for the most part. All the knitting is done, I just need to sew on the buttons. I’m avoiding that part since I’ve never done buttons before. The buttonhole placket and the button placket also don’t quite line up. I’m probably going to block it before [...]

First of all, thanks to everyone for the well wishes and for reading my blog. I’ve had more people read it in the past week than in the entire time I’ve been writing it! (250+ in one day — insane!)
As I begin to weed my way through actually being an Army wife, I’m [...]

I love this pattern. Knitting this is one of the first times that when I’m working on the pattern and reading it, it makes sense to me why I have to do what it tells me to do. It’s pretty awesome because its like I unlocked the secret to the pattern and [...]

Well it’s been awhile. I’m not much further on my way to losing that 15 pounds, but I’m working on it. It’s amazing how hard it is to get yourself started on working out regularly when you haven’t done it in awhile. It’s depressing, honestly, which makes it harder for me get [...]

Thus we have said our goodbyes to 2008 and with a new year, as always, come new resolutions. I’m going for a classic this year: go on a diet, get in shape and lose about 15 pounds. A is off to Fort Sill to play army for two months and having no classes I am [...]

Sooooooooooooo………. Swell actually kind of sucked. Apparently I changed it too much and it looks a lot less like a hat than it does a pancake. The brim (I don’t think it really has a brim, but what else would you call that?) is like twice the size of my head. Obviously, [...]
